CSP 052: Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs)
More Details
In today’s episode, I’m happy to welcome back Robyn Merkel Walsh to talk about tethered oral tissues (TOTs). Back in the day, we learned about ankyloglossia. If we were lucky, 5 minutes was spent talking about the issue and we moved on. After all, TOTS is pretty low-incidence, right? Well, maybe not…
Here are just a sample of the areas we covered:
1. Seven (yes 7 areas of oral frena)
2. How Brazil is way ahead of the curve on TOTs.
3. Who is providing the therapy pre and post-op?
4. Scope of practice issues
5. Where the oral motor debate is taking us
Note: this conversation was recorded in November 2019, just prior to the 2019 ASHA convention.
