If you work in the schools, you probably go through your fair share of velcro in a given year. And your scissors (and hands) probably suffer for it. The problem is that most scissors get “gummed up” over time. The adhesive used in velcro just doesn’t play nicely with our scissors.
Luckily, I came across this 3 pack of scissors from Costco about 3 years ago (about $18 US) (this picture only shows 2 of them):
These scissors have never gummed up on me. They cut like a champ and require no maintenance as far as I can tell (I will get them professionally sharpened at some point). Now here’s the bad news: they’re made by a company called “Cutting Edge”. Unfortunately, Costco doesn’t seem to sell them anymore. I did a google search and found a link to Amazon, but alas, they no longer carry them either.
I would like to think these scissors do well for 2 reasons: 1. They are very sharp 2. They’re made of high quality stainless steel.
Do you have a pair of scissors that work as well as these? Please do share by replying to this post, or email me directly.
